Portugal stocks higher at close of trade; PSI up 0.04%

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.04%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO), which rose 1.40% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.94 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) added 1.18% or 0.13 points to end at 11.12 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) was up 0.59% or 0.05 points to 8.51 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP), which fell 0.82% or 0.13 points to trade at 15.65 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) declined 0.69% or 0.02 points to end at 3.47 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) was down 0.43% or 0.06 points to 13.84.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 13 to 12 and 4 ended unchanged.

Brent oil for February delivery was down 0.55% or 0.40 to $71.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.51% or 0.35 to hit $68.42 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.68% or 17.91 to trade at $2,664.21 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.89% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.00% at 105.90.
